Prof. Dr. Herwig Brunner

acts as the CEO of the “Peter and Traudl Engelhorn-Stiftung”, a private Foundation dedicated to foster young high-potentials in Life Science Research. He was Executive Director of the Fraunhofer-Institute of Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology and chairing as a full professor the Institute of Interfacial Technology, Faculty of Engineering, University Stuttgart. Germany. After his diploma in Chemistry and PhD in Biochemical Engineering and Technical Microbiology at the University of Vienna, School of Engineering, Austria, and after a position as an Assistant-Professor, Institute of Immunology, Medical School, University Vienna, he joined pharmaceutical industry. There he got in-depth experience of pharmaceutical and diagnostic relevant processes (process development and production) and as a Vice President R&D Biotechnology, respectively. As a Senior Vice President he managed the Biotechnology Division (R&D + Production + QC) as well as the Bavarian Operations of Boehringer Mannheim/Corange Ltd. (now Roche). Herwig is a Fellow of the International Institute of Biotechnology, London, and elected member of The European Academy of Sciences and Arts and was elected to the Leibniz-Sozietät, Berlin. He is founder and/or promoter of some biotech start-ups and acts as a member of the supervisory board of several companies of the Biotech/Biomedical Industry as well as acted for many years as an advisor to the German Ministry of Research and Technology and the State of Bavaria, Ministry of Economy. He is dedicated to provide his broad experience in research and industrial production of Biotech- and Pharmaceutical Industry and his managerial skills as an advisor of Bioskinco.

Professor Dr. Dr. Wolfgang Vanscheidt

is Specialist für Dermatology, Phlebology, Allergology and Naturopathic Medicine. He pursued his medical studies at the University of Münster; Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town, South Africa; his PhD and MD degrees in Münster and was assistant physician at the Institute of Pathology, University of Dusseldorf, the Surgical University Clinic Freiburg and the Heart Centre in Bad Krozingen. In 1984 Prof. Vanscheidt started his residency training of Dermatology and was appointed as deputy medical director of the University Clinic for Dermatology Freiburg from 1994-2000. In the following years he was appointed as Medical Director of the Rehabilitation Clinic Hoechenschwand, the clinic Sonnenhof Höchenschwand, the Rheintalklinik Bad Krozingen and chief physician of the hospital for wound biology in Höchenschwand. Prof. Vanscheidt is an adjunct professor at the University of Freiburg and holds scheduled lectures and seminars for students of medicine and dentistry. He is a reviewer and examiner of the State Medical Association of Baden- Württemberg for Dermatology, Allergology and Phlebology. Prof. Vanscheidt is a member of numerous medical and scientific advisory boards of journals and reviewer for international high profile magazines such as Lancet, the British Journal of Surgery and Diabetes. Recently he was appointed as member of the Editorial Boards of “World Journal of Surgical Procedures”, Hong Kong, China; “ISR Dermatology”, Kairo and New York; and is honorary editorial board member of “Chronic Wound Care Management and Research Publications”. He is author and co-author of numerous publications and has taken part in numerous clinical studies since 1985.
